Second Harvest – Food Sourcing

Second Harvest offers free, discounted and purchased products to non-profit agency partners.

They also provide a list of local food banks by county.

The Senior Outreach Program operates through a partnership between Second Harvest and East Tennessee non-profits that serve the elderly. The food bank provides emergency and supplemental food to seniors across 18 counties.

Rural Route delivers supplies directly to rural food pantries that do not have the funds or equipment necessary to travel to the Second Harvest facility.

The goal of the Mobile Pantry program is to reach the hungry in their own community when infrastructure such as a pantry or community kitchen is lacking.

Rural Route

Rural Route delivers supplies directly to rural food pantries, Rural Route helps. At least three days a week, Second Harvest loads a truck with food at the warehouse. Once loaded, the truck travels a scheduled route delivering food. Dozens of nonprofits receive this food to serve the hungry in their area.

The Adventist Community Services Center provides emergency assistance for families and individuals in Davidson County and Hendersonville, Tennessee. Assistance is provided on a first-come basis during the hours our Help Department is open. Some of their resources include:
