Forging Connections: THEI & FICGN Alumni Gathering at Ogburn House

This past Saturday, August 31st, 2024, over 30 alumni and members from both THEI and the Formerly Incarcerated College Graduates Network (FICGN) communities gathered at Ogburn House in Nashville, TN, for a day of connection, reflection, and celebration. This event was the first alumni gathering hosted at Ogburn House, THEI’s first reentry housing initiative that opened in January 2024. Attendees enjoyed a day filled with meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and the formation of new connections, all centered around the transformative power of education.

The day was highlighted with stories from both THEI alumni and FICGN members, including FICGN’s Executive Director, Terrell Blount, who shared his story and spoke about FICGN's pioneering plans to expand their international network of formerly incarcerated college graduates in Tennessee. With partners like THEI, FICGN is eager to continue growing this network, and we're excited to be part of this endeavor. The event underscored the importance of community and collaboration in supporting the educational and personal growth of justice-impacted individuals.

We invite you to scroll through the photos taken at the gathering, which capture the spirit of the day and the vibrant connections made.
