On Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, THEI hosted its inaugural "She Changes Everything" conference at Belmont University, a groundbreaking event dedicated to addressing the challenges and opportunities for women in reentry. With over 160 attendees and speakers from a variety of local and national organizations, including the Tennessee Department of Health, the Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry (TPOM), The Education Trust, and Hudson Link, the conference was a resounding success.

We were honored to have Susan Burton as our keynote speaker. Susan, a renowned advocate for formerly incarcerated women and founder of A New Way of Life Reentry Project, shared her powerful story of transformation and her work in helping thousands of women rebuild their lives after incarceration. Her insights and experiences were both inspiring and motivating, setting the tone for the rest of the conference.

One of the highlights of the day was the lunch panel, which featured a Q&A session with directly impacted women who shared their personal experiences and insights. This powerful session underscored the importance of providing support and resources for women transitioning back into society.
